Pinot Grigio 2018
A lovely textural palate balanced with lively citrus zest and hints of fresh alpine herbs. This wine is clean, satisfying and mouth filling with great acid balance and good length.
District of Origin of Grapes
North East Victoria, predominantly Alpine Valleys with a hint of King Valley.
Pinot Grigio is an early ripening variety that requires gentle handling to minimise the extraction of harsh bitter phenolics and colour from the skins. We harvest our fruit in the cool hours of the early morning and keep the juice cold right through fermentation around 12-14 degrees Celcius. The wine is left on lees for three months prior to blending and bottling.
Rose gold blush.
Crisp, tight and focused. Full of pure pear and citrus freshness.
Lively and gracefull with pristine apple and pear fruit. The lightly textured palate and brisk stony finish make this wine ideal for pairing with light dishes or enjoying on its own or in the sunshine!
Spaghetti Vongole (clams in garlic and white wine).
Pinot grigio and pinot gris are the same variety. What determines a grigio from a gris is often up to the winemaker’s discretion. For us it comes down to two factors; when the fruit is picked - early harvesting with lower sugars and highter acidity for grigio, and the style in which it’s made - 100% cool fermented in stainless steel. This helps retain and highlight the pristing aromatics of the fruit whilst keping the palate bright, fresh and crisp.
