What grape varieties are in this wine?
Shiraz, Savagnin, Pinot Gris.

Where are the grapes grown?
Multiple wine regions within Victoria - Heathcote, Colbinnabin, Yarra Valley and King Valley.

What does it smell like?
Wild strawberries, elderflower, watermelon and a subtle hint of vanilla.

How about the taste?
Refreshingly dry with bright red berries, fleshy peaches and subtle savoury notes all supported by a crisp acidity and a long persistent finish.

What food goes with this wine?
Anything grilled on a barbecue! Think five-spiced quail, char-grilled octopus, smoky eggplant or chorizo.

How is the wine made?
The Shiraz was machine harvested in the cool of the evening and transported to the winery for immediate pressing. The free run was cold settled overnight and racked for ferment with aromatic yeast. The Pinot Gris and Savagnin were both pressed individually, cold settled and racked for a cool slow ferment. All parcels were sulphured after primary ferment and blended for bottling with minimal fining.

Does this wine spend any time in oak barrels?
Not for this wine! It was matured in stainless steel.

Winemakers Comments
When one door closes, another opens. These Shiraz grapes were originally destined for export to China. With that door closing we found ourselves presented with an exciting new opportunity to experiment and have a little fun. The result is this dry, fresh, crisp and very more-ish Rosé!

Expert Reviews

Jeni Port - Halliday Wine Companion, 3 August, 2022

(2021 vintage)

“46/35/9/8/2% syrah/savagnin/pinot gris/riesling/prosecco. Fermentation in stainless steel. Interesting multi-dimensional sourcing of grape varieties and regions (Heathcote, Yarra Valley, King Valley and Goulburn Valley) and it all comes together very nicely indeed! Candy-pink hues give an inkling of the bright cherry, raspberry and wild strawberries display across the bouquet. That summer pudding/berry, citrus and floral freshness and intensity is maintained as the wine winds its way with verve to the finish.”

Aaron Brasher - The Real Review, 13 February, 2022

(2021 vintage)

"Pale salmon-pink in colour. Aromas of red cherry, strawberry, white flowers and dried herbs. Soft, round and mouth-filling, full of cherry and raspberry, balanced acidity, a touch of grip and smart length."
